To accomplish its mission, the Centro de Estudios para el Lujo Sustentable [Center for Study of Sustainable Luxury] has created and Advisory Board which, to date, is made up of:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"foto005\"Mar\u00eda Eugenia Gir\u00f3n<\/b> has 18 years of experience in the premium and luxury industry as executive, investor, lecturer, professor and author.<\/span>
\nAt Loewe, the leading Spanish luxury goods brand, she discharged international responsibilities. In 1999, she led the management buy in (MBI) of Carrera y Carrera, and was the CEO of such company for six years. In 2012, she took on the position of Chairman of Le Chameau, the French brand known for its luxury rubber boots. She was a founding partner of Silvercloud, the investment fund created in 2010 to acquire companies in the premium and luxury sector. She is member of the Advisory Board of various companies in the sector including several benchmark Spanish and European companies.<\/span>
\nMoreover, she is the driving force and executive director of Observatorio de Mercado Premium y de Prestigio de IE Business School y Mastercard<\/i><\/b> [Mastercard and IE Business School Premium and Prestige Market Observatory]. She is also a member of Oceana International Board and of the Best Performance in Sustainable Luxury in Latin America Award. She is part of the Patronato de la Universidad IE<\/i> [IE University Council], of the Fundaci\u00f3n para la Diversidad [Foundation of Diversity], of \u201cSpain Start-Up & Investors Summit\u201d as well as advisor to Ashoka.<\/span>
\nShe earned a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the ICAI, Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, and a Master\u2019s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School.<\/span>
\n\u201cSecretos de lujo\u201d<\/i> [Inside Luxury], published in 2009, and she is director and co-author of the \u201cDiccionario del Lujo y Responsabilidad\u201d<\/i><\/b> [Dictionary for Luxury and Responsibility], published in 2012.<\/span>
\nIn 2004, she was awarded as the best woman Executive of Spain.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster, published by The Penguin Press in 2007. She began her career writing for the Style section of The Washington Post in Washington, D.C. and from 1995 to 2008, she served as the European cultural and fashion correspondent for Newsweek in Paris. Most recently, she was the European editor of Cond\u00e9 Nast Portfolio. She has written for the New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Vogue, Harper\u00b4s Bazaar, Los Angeles Times and Financial Times in London and serves as the Paris correspondent for Australian Harper\u00b4s Bazaar. Thomas is a member of the Anglo-American Press Association in Paris and the Overseas Press Club. She taught journalism at The American University of Paris from 1996 to 1999. In 1987, she received the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation Scholarship and the Ellis Haller Award for Outstanding Achievement in Journalism. She lives in Paris.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"foto005\"Sean Ansett<\/b> is a Sustainability Executive with 20 years\u2019 experience managing complexity, building multi-stakeholder partnerships, and spearheading change as the \u2018conscience of the company\u2019 across the apparel, electronics and food sectors.<\/span>
\nHe is founder of At Stake Advisors Limited<\/b>, a global sustainability consultancy focused on transforming strategy into practice in the areas of human rights, ethical trade, and environmental sustainability.<\/span>
\nPrior to founding At Stake Advisors, Sean Ansett was the Director of Corporate Responsibility at Burberry<\/b> and Director of Global Partnerships at Gap Inc.<\/b>, where he set a new bar for corporate responsibility reporting receiving more than 2m positive impressions. He also served as the Interim Executive Director of the Bangladesh Accord, the first ever supplier safety initiative<\/b>.<\/span>
\nSean was the former CSO of Fairphone<\/b>, the first sustainable and modular smart phone company to go to market that successfully raised $8m in crowd funding. He received the UN Momentum for Change Award, Sustainia 100 Community Award and was a 2016 SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards finalist<\/b>. <\/span>
\nSean speaks regularly on panels and guest lectures at leading business schools – INSEAD, London Business School, NYU, University of Cambridge and University of Michigan. He has contributed to and has been quoted in Bloomberg, Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal<\/b>. <\/span>
\nSean currently is Chairman of the Board of Uniform – Liberty and Justice Clothing<\/b>, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and serves on the Advisory Boards of Nest, Responsible Ecosystems Services Platform (RESP)<\/b> and University of Michigan Erb Institute<\/b>. <\/span>
\nSean holds a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge and a Masters of Science in Business Administration from California State University. He is a returned US Peace Corps volunteer, is fluent in Spanish, and has cross-cultural team experience in 30+ countries including China, Bangladesh, India, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam. <\/span><\/p>\n

Eduardo was the Executive Director of the Responsible Ecosystems Sourcing Platform (RESP) , a platform of luxury companies, governments and institutions working together to create sustainable economic models that benefit people and nature. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the continued relevance, effectiveness, and leadership of RESP in the delivery of its mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to founding RESP, Eduardo held a number of positions in international organisations, government and companies, including in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), the Mexican Ministry of the Economy, and General Electric. Eduardo is a Mexican national and holds a B.Sc. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM) and a M.A. in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of the University of Geneva.
